What Is Face Metrics Pro? Inside Greece's First AI-Powered Salon Experience
Face Metrics Pro is an AI-powered facial morphology analysis developed by Thodoris Ikonomakis — the first of its kind offered in a Greek hair salon. Here's exactly what happens in a session.
What Is Face Metrics Pro? Inside Greece's First AI-Powered Salon Experience
Ikonomakis Hair Atelier is the first salon in Greece to offer AI facial analysis as part of its professional hair consultation process. The service is called Face Metrics Pro, and it was developed by founder and master stylist Thodoris Ikonomakis.
This article explains exactly what it is, how a session works, and what you'll walk away with.
The Short Version
Face Metrics Pro is a 45-minute, €100 session in which your facial geometry, proportions and symmetry are measured and documented. The analysis produces a written report with specific recommendations for haircut shape, colour technique and styling.
It's conducted in Greek or English. It's available as a standalone session or combined with a hair service on the same day.
Why It Exists
Thodoris Ikonomakis developed Face Metrics Pro after observing a consistent pattern over decades of client work: clients who knew what their face "needed" — based on proportion awareness — made better decisions and were more consistently satisfied with their results.
The challenge was that most clients don't have this knowledge. And most stylists, while experienced, make intuitive rather than documented assessments. Face Metrics Pro was built to make that knowledge transferable, measurable and reproducible.
What a Session Looks Like
Step 1: Photograph and landmarks A neutral, front-facing photograph is taken under controlled, even lighting. Key anatomical landmarks are identified: hairline midpoint, inner and outer eye corners, nasal bridge, lip corners, chin point, jaw angles.
Step 2: Measurement and ratios Distances between landmarks are calculated. The critical ratios are:
- Facial width (at cheekbones) ÷ facial length (hairline to chin) — the foundational ratio
- Forehead width ÷ jaw width — determines top/bottom balance
- Middle third of face ÷ lower third — affects fringe and length recommendations
Step 3: Morphological classification The measurements place your face within a detailed morphological classification — more granular than the common "oval/round/square" framework used in general style advice.
Step 4: Symmetry evaluation Left-right differences are noted. Significant asymmetries can be optically addressed through parting placement, layer asymmetry and colour placement.
Step 5: Recommendations and report Based on the data, specific recommendations are generated and documented:
- Recommended cut length and shape
- Fringe: type, length, placement — or rationale for none
- Colour technique best suited to your profile (e.g., balayage vs babylights vs single process)
- Styling approach and direction
All of this is compiled into a written report that you receive at the end of the session.
What You Receive
- A written report (physical and/or digital copy)
- Your morphological classification
- Specific, numbered recommendations — not general suggestions
- A baseline you can refer to for any future stylist, anywhere in the world
The 'AI' Component
The computational element of Face Metrics Pro involves image analysis for landmark detection and ratio calculation, combined with a classification and recommendation engine built from Thodoris Ikonomakis's 30-year analytical framework.
The AI accelerates and standardises the measurement process. The interpretation and final recommendations draw on both the algorithmic output and the stylist's professional expertise.

Who Benefits Most
Clients who gain the most from Face Metrics Pro tend to share one characteristic: they've had multiple unsatisfying haircuts despite going to competent stylists. The problem was never execution — it was selection. Face Metrics Pro fixes the selection step.
It's also particularly valuable for international clients who want an objective, language-independent reference for their hair that they can use anywhere in the world.
